The Illovo Boulevard Security Forum was set up in June 2001 to introduce the Illovo Boulevard security concept to all stakeholders. The objective is to set up communications between internal (on-site) security and external (open space) security and security stakeholders such as SAPS (more specifically the Bramley Police). The aim is to have an efficient security communication network in the Illovo Boulevard that will be of benefit to all. The Forum is chaired by Francois Marais, the Manager of Corporate Business Services at JP Morgan South Africa. He has had many years of experience in the security business and was recently National President of the Security Association of South Africa.

The first level of communication has been via monthly security meetings. The second level is the sharing of security-related intelligence and information such as incidents, description of suspects, the immediate relaying of security related information such as hijackings or trespassers in offices. This has been done using e-mail and radio linkages. Photographs of suspects are also sent out via the e-mail network system.
The Boulevard now has its very own dedicated security site office (Property Protection Management- PPM) at 4 Chaplin Road. This office is for the exclusive use of the open space security guards.

No serious incidents were reported in the Illovo Bouelvard last year. This achievement of a safe environment was the result of a major drive of all security stakeholders in the area, namely, property owners, their security companies,SAPS Bramley and Metro Police with their ongoing police of zero tolerance.
