Tina White reappointed as manager of the IBMD Tina White, manager of the Illovo Boulevard Management District (IBMD) between 2001 and 2003, when it was known as the Illovo Property Owners Association (IPOA), has returned to manage this premier mixed-use commercial and residential node as of 1 July 2008. The Illovo Boulevard Management District is home to prominent property owners and tenants who have chosen the Illovo Boulevard as their business address. Some of these businesses include Colliers International, Ethos Private Equity, Mettle, JP Morgan, Santam Insurance, African Merchant Bank Capital, Kagiso, Gordon Institute of Business Science, Brait SA, Webber Wentzel Bowens, Assore Mining, Royal Bafokeng Holdings, Broll Property Brokers, Impala Platinum to name a few "It is a great pleasure and privilege to be back in the Illovo Boulevard. I was privy to most of the original development work in the Boulevard and it is fantastic to see how the area has changed. A dedicated armed response vehicle manned by two Public Safety Ambassadors (PSA) patrols the area. In addition there are four PSA foot patrols during the day and two at night. The Illovo Boulevard operations are overseen by Operations Manager, Yousuf Seedat who is available on 084 568 5510 or yousuf@rosebank.co.za Read moreIBMD road maintenance The Illovo Boulevard Management District team met with supervisors from the construction team of Telkom, Neotel and Plessey following the reinstatement of pavements after months of digging in the Boulevard. Plessey is the company contracted by Neotel to lay underground communication cables. The Illovo Boulevard Management District operations manager Yousuf Seedat said the reinstatement of the pavements was not satisfactory.“The paving was not aligned, driveways are sinking, the ivy plants were not replaced, sprinklers refitted were leaking and the walls along the pavements were left dirty and muddy.” Seedat said following a meeting with the contractors, arrangements were made for the IBMD to conduct a final inspection during July. Another development completed Construction of retail and office space at 198 Oxford Road adjacent to the Thrupps shopping centre is now complete. Some space is still available. GIBS construction nearing end The R100-million Illovo campus expansion of the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) is almost complete. The Illovo Boulevard Management District operations manager Yousuf Seedat said once the construction is completed, the IBMD will approach Johannesburg Roads Agency regarding the re-surfacing of Melvill road. The GIBS extension of their property at the Institute effectively doubles the capacity of the University of Pretoria's Johannesburg business school and will include two levels of underground parking, two new state-of-the-art lecture theatres, a new information centre and a wi-fi café on the ground floor, with administration and academic offices overlooking a central area on the first floor. The total area of the new building will be 17 385.5m².
