Roads

All road upgrades in the Illovo Boulevard and the surrounding area are complete. Since 1998 the following roads have been upgraded by the Illovo Boulevard Management District (IBMD) in partnership with the City:

• Bompas Road (from Oxford to Melville Roads)
• Oxford Road (from Bompas to Harries Roads)
• Corlett Drive (between Oxford and Rudd Roads)
• Fricker Road (from Hurlingham to Harries Roads)
• Chaplin Road (from Oxford to Melville Roads)
• Chaplin Road (at the intersection of Rudd Road)
• Intersection of Melville Road and 3rd Road, Hydepark

Street lights

The street lights in the Illovo Boulevard were installed as part of the original development and are currently maintained by the IBMD.

Pavements

Pavements in the IBMD are the responsibility of the property owners. They are responsible for maintaining the ivy, trees and paving.

Telecommunications

Telkom, MTN and Neotel completed their underground installations of cables in the Illovo Boulevard Management District. The reinstatements of the pavements were satisfactorily completed.
